Well, it’s been a minute since I last posted but there’s a perfectly good reason for it- I had the longest brain fart ever! Seriously, I couldn’t think of anything to write about. I joined discussion groups, I’d been trolling through my social media news feed, reading all kinds of books, trying to find my inspiration and I got nothing, Nada! You could literally hear the crickets. I began to doubt whether this blogging thing was a good idea in the first place and even considered deleting it until I realized I was paying to run this site. You know I’m not wasting any money! Hmmph, the devil is a lie! When I started this blog, the vision was so clear. I knew who I was writing to and what messages I wanted to convey. Then, I thought that the messages may start to get a bit redundant and potentially uninteresting. So, I have to change my focus. And while I still haven’t figured it all out, I can’t just stop; I have to do something and here’s why…
I was out a few weeks ago getting my mani- pedi on, and I was conversing with my nail technician, who’s awesome by the way, on things in general-life, psychology, spiritual awareness, and our own personal ambitions and goals. I happened to mention starting my blog and she read it a few days or so later. Well, a few weeks afterwards, she called me inquiring about whether I had a degree in Journalism or Communications, to which I responded,”No.” She went on to say how impressed she was with my writing and was seemingly intrigued about how I function most especially in the kitchen. So she asked me if I would write a feature article in her magazine. Say Whaaaat!?!?!?! You better believe I said yes with no hesitation! I was surpised, excited and nervous all at the same time. I couldn’t believe she thought that much of my writing to publish me in a real magazine!
As I began to brainstorm about what to write for the magazine article, I realized that had I not started my blog, she would not have known that I could write and she probably wouldn’t have considered me to write a FEATURED piece. So class, the lesson for today is that your actions are the bricks you need to bust out the windows of opportunity. You’ve just got to go for it-Do something! Get started! Put your fears aside, stop worrying and over thinking things. Understand that failure is not an option but it IS a pivotal part of the process in achieving your goals. Perhaps you have every detail ironed out; maybe you don’t, but things have a way of shifting and lining up according to what is already predestined. So go ahead; write the book! Apply for the job! Go back to school! Keep the blog up and running! (Excuse me, I had to preach to myself for a minute). Just keep the Faith, take Action, so you can reap the Reward and you’ll be sure to go FAR!
Stay motivated and inspired, y’all!
